What Staying in Balance Acupuncture's Patients are Saying
Acupuncture for Back Pain, Sciatica and Knee Pain
Before my first appt. with Bonnie, I was in near constant pain and my normal activities were extremely limited. I was immediately struck by her thoroughness, professionalism and understanding of my condition. I noticed significant improvement after my second visit, and continued to gradually improve. I was able to stop the large amount of ibuprofen I'd been taking, and am back to living my life without pain. In addition to the treatment she provided during our sessions, Bonnie gave me several between-treatment exercises as well as community resources to assist in my recovery. I will always be grateful to Bonnie for helping me get my life back. Sandra Mackler, Westfield
"Thanks you for seeing me today. I'm still in awe at how much relief I have received. Thank you!" ~Diane Sady, Wilbraham
"I had suffered for 13 months with sciatica leg pain whereby I could not stand for more than 3 minutes without the pain starting and then continuing in severity. I had gone through the normal medical procedures like chiropractor and anti inflammatory drugs to no relief. My next medical procedure was for cortisone shots in the spine which I was very reluctant to proceed with due to the potential negative side effects. With my daughter's encouragement after a discussion with Bonnie, and the fact that it could do no harm, I decided me to give acupuncture a try and see if the nerve inflammation could be suppressed enough to avoid contact with my bone spur. Pain reduction was noticed at various levels throughout my nine weekly treatments. I have fortunately been relatively pain free since the completion and have just recently signed up for my second bike trip across the USA. I cannot thank Bonnie enough for getting my life back to normal and would highly recommend her services." ~Phil Chmura
"I sought treatment for severe sciatica and back and leg pain which has completely resolved. Bonnie is patient, a great listener and thorough. It's a relaxed environment, but you will learn a lot!" ~Lisa K, Westfield
“I went to Bonnie for lower back pain, sciatica and knee swelling and got a lot of relief. I would’ve never thought of this until I could not withstand the pain. Acupuncture is not as painful as everyone thinks. It’s quite gentle and enlightening. Bonnie listens to you.” ~Eladia Colon, Holyoke
“To say the least, I was taken by surprise by my primary care physician’s answer. In a moment of inattention, I had lifted something awkward and heavy and injured muscles in my lower back. Experiencing continued soreness after several weeks of conventional treatment, I had asked what I might do next. His answer? Undertake acupuncture with Bonnie Diamond. This was a remarkable experience. Bonnie is highly skilled in multiple techniques; works directly with each patient throughout her seventy-five-minute sessions. She is thoughtful, perceptive, and amazingly successful in identifying the precise location of pain and finding precisely where to apply treatment. I cannot imagine a more intelligent or caring practitioner. Whether you are, like I, newly-come to acupuncture, or are an experienced patient, I recommend you contact Bonnie the next time you need treatment.” ~John
Acupuncture for Chronic Neck and Back Pain
"Bonnie is the best acupuncturist I found in the many years (15) that I have had acupuncture. She honestly know what your body needs in a very gentle and unassuming ways... I've had lower back, glutes, shoulder, and neck troubles for over a decade due to advance Bikram Yoga practice, advance hot vinyasa practice, and a car accident that totaled my plug-in Prius (hit from the back while on full stop). No one, I mean no one could help fix the daily pain away (between 4 and 7 in any given day). I've been to all sorts of doctors that were prescribed by Mass General Hosp including PT, Deep Tissue, Chiro and Acu. Different Rx and OTC pain meds weren't really helpful so I stopped taking them. By chance, I had a 4-month stint in Western Mass (I lived in the South Shore and Boston areas) - I figured this is a great place to try natural therapies which I did: Chiro, Deep Tissue and Acupuncture. I saw 6 different therapists and Bonnie was my last resort - I relied heavily on "product" reviews because I'm not from WM and don't know anyone around. Luckily, I saw a few google reviews and 1 yelp review for Bonnie - I went to her website and read her bio - that clinched it for me. I wished I lived in WM longer; I wished she was closer to me (I'd drive an hour if that's all it takes). Alas, all good things must come to an end. For the many of us that are suffering due to pain...PLEASE try Bonnie Diamond's healing hands and therapeutic know-how and see/believe for yourself what this gracious woman can do for your body." ~Abi Enoy “I consider myself an acupuncture specialist having received numerous treatments over many years for my chronic neck and back pains. I had a C5 neck fusion years ago due to a nasty car accident that makes me prone to stiff shoulder muscles but prohibits massages. I came to see Bonnie on the advice of my general practitioner as my back pains were becoming worse. Now based in the USA after growing up in South Africa, Bonnie’s style and technique is amazing for me. Her touch is soft yet certain, and the reassurance that it should not hurt proved a new experience for me in my personal relaxation. Bonnie starts every session checking up on my general well-being, discusses my diet, comments on my tendency to wear high heels and shows me techniques to strengthen my back muscles while sitting at my computer. I feel safe in the knowledge that she cares and that I continue to feel better. I continue going back for the ambiance – the soft music and the care to detail on my well-being, whilst never being less than absolutely professional in what I perceive as Bonnie’s art to make me well.” ~Rene
“The first surprise was to learn how pleasant and relaxing it is to be stuck with fine needles!…Bonnie is a conscientious practitioner. Her treatment is based on what she finds through careful palpation and questioning. She doesn’t follow any ‘canned’ plan based on her preliminary evaluation, but instead she re-evaluates the individual’s condition at each appointment, and adjusts the treatments accordingly. Bonnie Diamond is a thoughtful, caring practitioner of a valuable therapy. I only wish I had begun treatments years earlier.” ~Sherry
“After approximately five years of nearly constant back/neck/shoulder pain with hours spent at physicians, chiropractors, physical therapists and even at the New England Baptist Spine Institute – not to mention the exercises, gadgets and medications – my general practitioner asked if I had considered acupuncture. When I first came to Bonnie, she forewarned me that it would probably take several (even up to 6 to 8) visits to feel or notice change, but she believed that she could help. After my second treatment I was feeling like a totally new person! Not many people could be a lot more skeptical than I was. Now, I cannot praise the practice enough-Bonnie never ceases to amaze me.” ~Laureen

I find that I am able to limit BP medication to an absolute minimum with weekly sessions, and pain in my wrists and elbows that detracted from my job as a collaborative pianist has been almost completely eliminated. Bonnie’s treatments, involving needles and moxa, are very relaxing in a general sense as well, and contribute to overall well-being.” ~Jerry

I have found that both her professional expertise and her personal energy and understanding have had a profound impact on my life. Her treatments are always tailored to what my body needs at the time and her technique is both painless and calming.
