Coronavirus Protocols

Healing has always been a collaborative experience.  As a healer I offer you my training, expertise, care and compassion.  You as a patient are asked to participate in healing by your presence in my office, by listening and considering the advice I give you and by caring for yourself during the time between treatments.

We are in uncharted waters, but the path to health remains the same:  eat healthy and sustainable foods, get exercise, return to a place of centeredness, get adequate sleep and seek out care from medical professionals when needed.

These things are even more important during a pandemic.  Currently, the CDC is saying "Based on currently available information and clinical expertise, older adults and people of any age who have serious underlying medical conditions might be at higher risk for severe illness from COVID-19."

So being healthy in general lowers your risk of having a difficult experience recovering from COVID-19 if you should get it.  Chances of a healthy recovery are greatest if you are already healthy.  My goal is to help you get and stay healthy.

Currently, I'm requiring Covid vaccines for all patients.
While imperfect, discussions with my doctors and my reading of medical information has lead me to believe that vaccines are the best tool we have for keeping the majority of people safe from death and severe illness.  If you have chosen not to be vaccinated, we can schedule a time to talk online so that I can help you find another practitioner in the area.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
We are all at risk for catching the disease.  To make sure that you receive the care that you need with minimal risk of infection, I've put the following new guidelines in place.
Covid-19 is spread through respiratory droplets -- either from the mouth or nose -- or by touching droplets and touching your mouth or nose.  These guidelines will limit the spread of respiratory droplets.  I've set up systems so that payment and paperwork can be done online.  Intakes for new patients are currently being done online through doxy.me  -- a HIPPA-compliant telemedicine program or by phone.
Pre-Appointment
1) Please make appointments only if the following is true.
A) You have none of the following symptoms:
 *Fever
*Shortness of Breath
*Dry Cough
*Runny Nose
*Sore Throat
*Loss of Taste or Smell
B) You have not traveled outside the US to a country that has been affected by the Coronavirus or have been in an area with a group of people who have Coronavirus.
2) You will be emailed an invoice which you'll be asked to pay upon receipt.  If you would prefer to send a check, please let me know that by email.  If you purchased a package of visits before the office closed, I have records of that and you will receive treatments for visits that you have paid for.
3) Please wear a mask when you come to the office. (If you forget, I'll have extras on hand.)
Keeping the Office Clean
1) Between patients I'll be cleaning and disinfecting the treatment table and all the surfaces in the office and door knobs.  Ideally, you won't be touching anything.
2) I'll be wearing a face mask.
3) I'll be scheduling time between appointments to clean the office, wash my hands and keep everything sanitized.
4) I keep an air purifier running in the office.
Communication
I'm figuring how to safely keep my practice open as we go through this time of increased precautions due to the Coronavirus.  I absolutely want you to feel safe and comfortable.  Please let me know if you need something that I've not thought of to make your experience at Staying in Balance a good one.  This is always true, but particularly now.
As always, I'm here to help and support you.  Just reach out.
